WPRA Urges City Council to Continue Fighting Tunnel

WPRA President Geoffrey Baum and the last three past presidents sent a letter on April 4 urging the Pasadena City Council to take six actions regarding the SR-710 North Study:

  1. Vote against the SR-710 tunnel alternative
  2. Endorse the Pasadena Preferred Alternative recommended by the City’s SR-710 Alternative Working Group.
  3. Endorse the Connecting Pasadena Project.
  4. Demand that Metro and Caldrons provide a cost benefit analysis for the proposed SR-710 project for public review.
  5. Demand t hat Metro an Caldrons study the environmental impact of a tunnel-boring machine (TBM) failure.
  6. Agree that Pasadena’s Measure A should not constrain council members’ ability to speak and vote on this critical issue.
